چکیده
At the height of his scientific career, anatomist Nicolaus Steno published Elementorum myologiæ specimen (Florence, 1667), a book unlike any other anatomy until then. Rather than an book, it seemed more like mathematics, with propositions, lemmas and corollaries. is thought to have developed mathematical interests in Florence school Galileo. However, this article challenges interpretation argues that Steno’s turn towards mathematics was gradual process began earlier Copenhagen Leiden. By surveying early anatomical writings, methods such as quantification measurements, mechanical analogies, geometrical models come light. More importantly, these are read their own context, by considering what really meant modern period how anatomists used history. As such, provides complete picture interest sheds new light on rise life sciences.

From the first commentaries of Akhundzadeh to Jamalzadeh’s introduction to Yeki Bud YekiNabud, i.e., over a period of almost fifty years, we can see a collection of a few scattered commentaries on story and novel which are rarely noticed by researchers. These scattered commentaries can be regarded as the first literary manifests of story and novel. These critiques and commentaries include subje...

In this study, IC50 shift and time-dependent inhibition (TDI) experimentswere carried out tomeasure the ability of amiodarone (AMIO), and its circulating human metabolites, to reversibly and irreversibly inhibit CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2D6, and CYP3A4 activities in human liver microsomes. The [I]u/Ki,u values were calculated and used to predict in vivo AMIO drug-drug interactions (DDIs) for pharmace...

The mammalian cerebellum consists of folds of different sizes and shapes that house distinct neural circuits. A crucial factor underlying foliation is the generation of granule cells (gcs), the most numerous neuron type in the brain. We used clonal analysis to uncover global as well as folium size-specific cellular behaviors that underlie cerebellar morphogenesis. Unlike most neural precursors,...
متن کاملThe Numbers Behind NUMB 3 RS : Solving Crime with Mathematics
Since reading The Numbers Behind NUMB3RS: Solving Crime with Mathematics, I've started watching the television show NUMB3RS again. I've always found crime dramas predictable and repetitive, and nothing much has changed. Still, I've tuned in a few times out of a morbid curiosity spawned from this book. As many readers know, NUMB3RS focuses on FBI agent Don Eppes, who solves crime with the help o...

We say that a positive integer d is special if for every integer m there exist nonzero integers a, b, c such that m = a2+ b2− dc2. In this note we present examples and some properties of special numbers. Moreover, we present an infinite sequence of special numbers.
